Final Idea
After a discussion that my group and I had, we have finally come up with our final idea after debating which idea we liked the best. We came to the conclusion that we wanted to mix two ideas together.
We have decided to go with the idea based along, A Day In Medway, this would consist of us going out on a boat and film across the river. We have found a few boating companies that we have emailed and they have all said that they would be willing to take us out filming, we just need to decide what would be our best option for this. We would need to consider safety risks and money.
While on the boat we would film the wildlife around the small different islands that we have seen are around the river, we have though that maybe we might not be able to get shots of the wildlife, it all depends on whether the wildlife is out on the day we choose to film, however if this was to happen we would still be able to film all of our establishing shots, so it wouldnt be a complete waste of time.
I have also been in contact with the Wildwood Trust and The Fox Project, they have both said that we would be able to film the foxes, we would have liked to been able to film the foxes being rescued however it is unlikely that this would be able to happen, however they have told me that we would be able to go into the Intensive Care Unit of The Fox Project and film how they take care of the foxes after they get rescued and all the after care that they receive before the staff figure out if they are able to go into the wild or get sent to the Wildwood Trust to be cared for if they are unable to go back into the wild.
We have chosen to focus our documentary on:-
- Urban foxes in Chatham/Rochester/Gillingham and Herne Bay area
- Seals in a wider estuary
- Ocean/estuary birds around river side park area
- Any other associated wildlife along the bans of Medway

'From Strood Bridges to the Medway Basin, from Historic Rochester town to the Darnet and Hoo Forts, we'll be taking a look at the wildlife, from urban foxes in Chatham and Rochester, to the Seals and birds of the Medway Estuary, this is A Day on the Medway.'
Our angle is the post industrial wasteland slowly becoming a naturalistic paradise, our major sections are:-
Urban Foxes - We will look into the urban fox infestation threatening Medway, focusing upon the rescue and the packs operating in the area, as well at parks around Medway that help to rescue these foxes and their after care.
Seals - We will be looking at the mammalian species that inhabit the Medway Estuary, focusing on the seal community and other aquatic or marine beings.
Sea/River/Estuary Birds - Lastly we will be looking at the local Avian population, focusing upon the wetland and ex industrial sites along the Medway and their avian residents, we will also be looking at the mudbank worn that earned Medway its maritime conservation status.
